Can ReactOS run Linux apps?

Post by ZephyrXero »

I know the main goal of ReactOS is to have an open source clone of MS Windows, but are there plans to make it compatible with other OS's too? Will you be able to use Linux versions of programs, or will you have to use a half-ass windows port instead? What about BSD/Mac OSX stuff? Posix?

Are you writing the kernel from scratch, or are you taking parts of other kernels and expanding them?

As far as I know, the kernels starting out from 0 and writing from there. I know that some DLLs and such are being swapped with WINE, but I don't think WINE has an NTOSKRNL ;)

The kernel was built up from the gorund by the ReactOS team.

There is a plan for a POSIX subsystem so Linux applications could run. It will be based on coLinux.
