boot screen concept

Post by jonaspm »

How about this boot concept?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhYPMn8P ... re=related

i really find it BEAUTIFUL and ELEGANT

what do you think?

Something similar in ReactOS should be amazing... i mean.. it is just graphic, not useful, but it gives a more professional look :)

I can't see the point of the UI taking the icons out of the taskbar and moving them up to a huge bar at the top of the screen. To me it makes it look more cluttered and is a step back in terms of usability.

Sorry I was talking about the whole concept, although the UI is still better than Metro. I take it you mean the line dancing around the screen, it certainly is beautiful in a mesmerising way.

I'd rather have an OS that doesn't take that long to install/boot.

Of course, ReactOS is already working on that :D

Same here. I am not big on splash screens. Just get me in there ASAP.

I like it. ^^
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

If my post/reply offends or insults you, be sure that you know what sarcasm is...

I don't like it. Looks heavy and overloaded with useless distracting effects. I think I like Metro better than this.

I dunno why people are posting to this old thread. It it is just some mindless overdose of eye candy some apparent windows fanboi through together.

There is nothing wrong with keeping something like that simple and boring. I've spent a good portion of my life staring at dull gray status bars. Heck, when I was a kid we didn't even have those! We had to watch activity lights on the disk drives, and we had to solder those on ourselves! :ugeek:

It's only a month old. That's not old.
