I know rel means release and dbg means debug. release in this case meaning the version that doesn't include all the info required for debugging. As for dbgwin I assume it is a debug version and win typically means windows so it might be a debug version for windows but I am just guessing on that from the semantics. I really don't know anything about dbgwin.

"win" means that it is compiled on a Windows host. The others are compiled on a Linux host. The distinction is made because sometimes the build environments can inadvertently do things a little different. Also, for a while one was using the CMAKE build system and the other was using the older RBuild system.

The REL builds strip debugging information and other debug/test related stuff.

And thus, on a xxx-dbg(win).iso image, you have the kernel debugger that you can see if you use debugging output (via serial port) when running ReactOS on a virtual machine.

Another question about this two lastest versions avaiable:

bootcd-57791-rel: size 39.5mb

bootcd-57798-rel size 39.5mb


I donnt' undestand why both are the exactly same size, even unzipped both isos had exactly the same amount of bytes, i guess that if are diferent revision cannot match in size, anyone can explain me that?.

It should be remembered that ISO image files have long runs of 0's for alignment purposes. Thus, small changes in the executable file sizes inside do not necessarily affect the ISO file size.
