Does this mean the textmode setup will vanish? I personally dislike live-CDs that can be installed to a complete system. And I really like installing Reactos using the blue textmode setup! User:egore911

Ubuntu has an "Alternate Install CD" So I'm assuming you're hoping for one for ROS as well, yes? Did you ask on the forums? Iyeru
We plan to combine Live-CD and Setup-CD for many reasons, but at least for a transitional period we will provide the blue textmode setup too. Nevertheless, there are some problems with textmode setup and the maintenance of it. So, maybe there is no further development of textmode setup (in future). As you can see in "Objectives" section, at the moment we want to keep the textmode installation... --maku 11:58, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Maku, may be a good idea to keep the textmode setup; easier to test trunk builds through rapid installation by hammering the Enter key -- Lone Rifle 19:29, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

With Windows, you can hit F8 during startup for advanced boot options. Could this be used to boot to text mode setup instead of the Live CD and GUI setup? BrentNewland 20:20, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
